Students are required to read one of the books from the list above and then complete one of the following activities based on what they have read:

ACTIVITY OPTIONS:

#1 Brochure: Make a travel brochure for the setting of the novel. Include information about local culture, entertainment, and what makes the place unique. Include your own illustrations.

#2 Diary: Write a character diary, writing at least five journal entries as if you were the main character in the story. Write down events that happened and reflect on how they affected the character and why.

#3 Character Analysis: Choose one character from the book that interests you. Make notes about this character and record their personality, likes, dislikes, habits, and hobbies. Write a multi-paragraph essay in which you share these traits using evidence from the text.

This assignment will be collected on Friday, August 15, 2025, by your child’s homeroom teacher.
